Green Audit for NAAC Accreditation

Introduction

A green audit evaluates an organization’s environmental impacts in terms of carbon footprint, while also suggesting ways to reduce it through resource conservation and effective resource utilization, and raising environmental awareness.

NAAC Criteria for Green Audit

All higher learning institutions, notably public universities, are required to be accredited by the NAAC.

Universities/Institutes that do not have NAAC certification are ineligible for UGC funding, RUSA grants, financial aid, and other forms of support. Moreover, NAAC accreditation examines the institute’s quality in terms of education, facilities, research, teaching, and learning, among other things.

To preserve and improve the environmental conditions in and around the campus, green audit is a requirement under the criteria 7 (INSTITUTIONAL VALUES AND BEST PRACTICES) of NAAC.
