Chloride Calculator
Definition: Chloride is a common dissolved ion in natural water and wastewater. In argentometric titration, chloride reacts with silver nitrate and the result is expressed as milligrams per litre of chloride ion.
Chloride (mg/L) =
[(A − B) × N × 35,450] / V
Where A is the AgNO₃ volume used for the sample in mL, B is the blank titration volume in mL, N is the normality of AgNO₃, and V is the sample volume in mL.
Method basis: Argentometric titration of chloride with silver nitrate, commonly performed using the Mohr method in water analysis.
