About Industry Wastewater Factors

Industrial wastewater generation varies with process technology, product mix, cleaning practices, water conservation, recycle systems and plant operating conditions. The preset values are intended as screening estimates and can be edited using measured wastewater generation, project water balance or applicable regulatory data.

The calculated ETP capacity represents hydraulic treatment capacity. Detailed ETP design must additionally consider influent BOD, COD, TSS, oil and grease, nutrients, pH, salinity, toxic or inhibitory constituents, equalization requirements, sludge generation and applicable discharge or reuse standards.

Indicative source basis includes World Bank Group / IFC sector EHS guidance and published wastewater-treatment literature for textile, dairy, brewery, tannery, slaughterhouse, sugar, pulp & paper, and food-processing industries. Values are screening benchmarks rather than statutory CPCB capacity requirements.
