How Does the Product Pricing Calculator Work?
This Product Pricing Calculator estimates the selling price required to cover product costs and achieve a desired profit margin. The Advanced calculator also accounts for packaging, logistics, distribution margin, retailer margin and platform fees.
How Is Selling Price Calculated?
The calculator first adds the product, packaging and logistics costs to determine the total fixed cost. Percentage-based costs and the desired profit margin are then considered to determine the required selling price.
In the Advanced calculator, distribution margin, retailer margin, platform fees and desired margin are calculated as percentages of the selling price before tax.
What Costs Should Be Included in Product Pricing?
Product pricing may include the product cost itself as well as packaging and logistics costs. Depending on the sales channel, distribution margins, retailer margins and platform fees may also affect the required selling price.
