Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) Calculator
Definition: Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) represents the concentration of dissolved substances remaining after a filtered water or wastewater sample is evaporated and the residue is dried to constant weight.
TDS (mg/L) = [(A − B) × 1000] / V
Where A is the weight of the dish plus dried residue in mg, B is the weight of the empty dish in mg, and V is the sample volume in mL.
Method basis: Gravimetric determination of dissolved solids, consistent with commonly used Standard Methods procedures for examination of water and wastewater.
