Total Solids (TS) Calculator
Definition: Total Solids (TS) is the total amount of dissolved and suspended material remaining after a known volume of an unfiltered water or wastewater sample is evaporated and dried.
TS (mg/L) = [(A − B) × 1000] / V
Where A is the weight of the dish plus dried residue in mg, B is the weight of the empty dish in mg, and V is the sample volume in mL.
Method basis: Gravimetric determination of total solids, consistent with standard laboratory methods for examination of water and wastewater.
